External platform lift for a National Social Housing Charity
Although many of the housing associations Jackson work with are regionally based, we also provide lift maintenance, modernisation and a new lift installation service for national housing associations, some of which provide supported living for people with complex needs.
One such case was for a National Charitable-supported living provider, for one of their properties in Bristol. Although the property had ramp access, there were still several low steps at the front of the building which made access difficult for those with limited mobility.
Jackson Sales Engineers, operating from our Bristol offices, were approached by the housing provider and asked if we could assist with an external platform lift that would fulfil the requirement and provide a robust and weatherproof solution.
After a detailed site survey, we proposed a fully compliant European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC external one-stop platform lift with a lifting platform large enough to carry a large wheelchair and passenger.
Together with our proposal, we provided budget and time-frame estimates, and were subsequently awarded the installation project.
