Jackson Net ZERO by 2030

Climate change is the most significant issue our planet is facing and requires action from individuals and businesses alike.

Like many of us, we are concerned about the impact we have on our world, and we started on the path to improving our environmental credentials by gaining the ISO 14001: Environmental Management accreditation. Subsequently, in 2014, we were successful in achieving the ISO 50001 standard for Energy Management which demonstrates our commitment towards energy efficiency and sustainability. Since achieving this accreditation, Jackson have been successful at reducing our monthly energy consumption by 21%.

Whilst we have been incredibly pleased with the reduction of our energy consumption, Jackson recognises that further urgent action is required. As a result, we have joined SBTi (The Science Based Targets initiative) and have pledged to achieve Net ZERO by 2030. SBTi (Science Based Target initiative) is the fastest-growing and most reputable climate mitigation initiative in the corporate sector. They define and promote best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses a company’s targets.

To help Jackson achieve our Net ZERO by 2030 climate pledges, Jackson are also participating in Grosvenor’s SME Mentoring Programme to help with our carbon reduction journey.

Our journey:

  • We have committed to establishing our first carbon-neutral office building in 2023, to be achieved by installing solar PV, battery storage, and air-source heat pumps.
  • We have committed to having a carbon-neutral vehicle fleet by 2028. All commercial vehicles being ordered beyond 2024 will be electric.
  • We are currently working with our logistic and workwear suppliers to provide carbon-neutral and sustainable alternatives. All old workwear is already recycled.
  • Our office electricity supplier only sources power from 100% renewable generators, including a mix of wind, solar, bio and hydro.
