Manchester Airports Group plc (MAG)

Project details:

  • Escalator Replacement
  • Lift Modernisation
  • Passenger Lifts

With pre-pandemic passenger numbers annually exceeding 27M and now returning to those levels, London Stansted Airport’s lifts, escalators and moving walkways must be available for passengers around-the-clock, 365 days a year.

For some considerable time, to help ensure this happens, Jackson have been providing routine maintenance, repairs and modernisation for the lifts, escalators and moving walkways at Stansted Airport.

Working under an existing framework agreement with Manchester Airports Group plc (MAG), who owns and operates Stansted Airport, Jackson have recently replaced several end-of-life escalators and fully modernised several MRL passenger lifts and moving walkways at the airport. Some of the modernisation works were carried out during lockdown by our engineering staff, maintaining strict COVID distancing requirements. As lockdown was lifted, we continued our essential work at night, when the airport was at its least busy.
