Lift Maintenance at King’s College, London
King’s College Hospital (KCH) is one of London’s major trauma centres and teaching hospitals, serving a population of over 700,000 people residing in the London Boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth. Apart from the Hospital in Denmark Hill, King’s has five London campuses along with various other residencies including those at Great Dover Street and Stamford Street.
Jackson are proud to have won the maintenance, repairs and engineer call-out contract for KCH’s 68 lifts located over the multiple buildings that form part of the Denmark Hill and Guy’s Campuses. The contract award, which was won in a competitive tendering process, followed on from several site meetings and lift surveys prior to the submission of our tender return.
The administration of our contract with KCH is undertaken at the Jackson Head Office and Regional Centre in Charlton, London. The team of engineers who look after KCH are all locally based and within easy travel distance to the Hospital. Prior to any scheduled visit, any service parts that have been identified for replacement are collected from our Stores Department at Charlton, where we also keep a basic stock of the parts needed for call-out breakdowns.
Jackson have also been helping the Trust with access equipment, again, under a tendering process that we have won which resulted in the installation of an inclined platform lift at KCH’s Strand Campus and a vertical platform lift at the Denmark Hill Campus.
