Repairs and upgrades a daily task for Jackson engineers
The scope of repair and upgrade work Jackson engineers undertake daily to help keep our customers lifts in a reliable and safe working condition can range from a faulty lift car button to the replacement of a hydraulic valve block and far beyond.
One of the typical minor upgrade/replacement jobs that Jackson lift engineers have successfully completed was at an early 2000s business park in Wythenshawe, South Manchester.
The concerns related to the poor performance of two 3-stop hydraulic passenger lifts, the smoothness of the lift car travel and the operational reliability of the lift car doors.
As with most repair and upgrade work of this type, a locally based Jackson Sales Engineer (Manchester) provided a detailed estimate for our customer to consider. The estimate related to our Manchester-based lift engineers replacing the two failing hydraulic valve blocks and the lift car door operators. We also provided a works programme that ensured one lift was always available to passengers during our work.
Once the estimate was approved, Jackson ordered the replacement hydraulic valve blocks and door operators, and we scheduled the work to be undertaken at a convenient time for our customer. To ensure the new hydraulic valves worked as they should, our engineers also replaced the existing hydraulic fluids in the tanks with new fire-resistant, biodegradable oil, transporting all the redundant and surplus oils to a local authorised waste disposal centre.
This is just another one of hundreds of minor repair jobs Jackson lift engineers successfully complete every month across the UK.
