Apprentice Jamie: first to complete the Level 3 Lift and Escalator Electromechanic Apprenticeship Standard

Jackson are very proud of all of our apprentices, and their growing skills, as we see them progress within our organisation. We consider them all to be a great asset for the future. But for one Jamie has set the benchmark of becoming the first UK apprentice to complete the Level 3 Lift and Escalator Electromechanic Apprenticeship Standard. An amazing achievement.

This award is part of the End Point Assessment organised by the Lift and Escalator Industry Association.
In order to achieve this award Jamie had to demonstrate knowledge of the practices and legislation for the servicing, repairs and maintenance of lift systems. As part of this Jamie also had to demonstrate his knowledge of inspecting lift equipment, fault diagnosis, fault location and rectification, use of lubricants, hydraulic fluids and cleaning materials.

The final assessment to secure the award includes a knowledge test, a 2000-word project report and presentation and finally a 45-minute structured Q&A interview.

Relieved that it is over, Jamie says that given he was the first person to achieve this award in the UK it was quite daunting, like going into the unknown.

This is a huge achievement and everybody in Jackson is very proud of Jamie.
