Hydraulic lift modernisation to improve reliability and energy efficiency.
There is an ever-increasing number of care homes that were built over fifteen years ago that had hydraulic lifts installed at the time of their construction. Now with the passing of time, many of these homes will be considering refurbishment and updating the hydraulic and control systems – if they have not done so already to improve reliability, energy efficiency and compliance to the latest standards.
One example of how Jackson can help to improve the status of aging hydraulic lifts in care facilities is that of a recent lift modernisation project undertaken at a purpose-built 63-room residential care home in South Shields.
Local Jackson engineers working from our Newcastle offices undertook the modernisation, which included removing the old hydraulic system, lift controller and door operator. We then installed one of the latest hydraulic systems that included a new tank, hydraulic valve, and lift controller. Our engineers also rewired the lift shaft and installed a new car door operator.
During the modernisation period, our engineers worked closely with the care home’s management to ensure any disruption or noise disturbance to residents was kept to an absolute minimum.
With the lift fully tested, back in service and under Jackson local maintenance, the residents will benefit from smoother lift travel, accurate floor levelling and faultless door operations.
