Lift Modernisation – Northeast Scotland & the Grampians

There are many reasons why a passenger or goods lift is modernised. In most cases, it is because the lift is starting to show signs of unreliability. In buildings that include essential passenger and mobility access lifts that help people move floor to floor or overcome a level change, a reliable lift is essential. Across the UK, including Scotland, Jackson lift modernisation engineers undertake a wide range of lift modernisation services, covering traction, hydraulic and mobility access lifts.

In the Northeast of Scotland, most of the lift modernisation we undertake will be in buildings ranging from two to six floors. However, in Scotland’s major cities, where medium-to-high-rise lifts are more common, local Jackson engineers are routinely modernising and refurbishing lifts that are up to 20 years old or even older.

Our local teams can assist with a comprehensive suite of upgrades, including:

  • Hydraulic system upgrades
  • Traction motor refurbishment and replacements
  • Lift controller upgrades and replacement
  • Door system modernisations
  • Car buttons, landing buttons and visual displays
  • Lift car interior finishes

When responding to a request for a lift modernisation, one of our Scottish-based Sales Engineers will arrange to visit the site to discuss your requirements and undertake a technical lift survey and condition report. This survey and report are undertaken to form the basis of our modernisation estimate and subsequent discussions about the proposed work. In instances where a customer has a lift consultant in place, our local sales engineer will always work closely with them to achieve the best long-term lift modernisation solution.

Many of the modernisation projects we undertake focus on the control systems and user interfaces to improve reliability and compliance with the latest standards, including BS EN 81-80 and BS EN 81-82. However, we don’t only undertake controller and interface upgrades; our experienced Scottish lift engineers also undertake full replacement modernisations of hydraulic and traction-driven lifts.

When working in a fully operational building, Jackson local engineers always take extra care to overcome any inconvenience or disturbance to those living, working or visiting using the building.

We work across all sectors, including but not limited to:

  • Retail properties, hotels and hospitality venues
  • Commercial and residential properties
  • Care and nursing homes

Our services cover all of Northeast Scotland, including, but not limited to:
Aberdeen, Arbroath, Braemar, Connel, Dundee, Fraserburgh, Nairn, Perth and Peterhead.
