Lift & Escalator Maintenance – Channel Islands

Just off the Normandy coast of France, the Channel Islands are a group of British Crown Dependencies in the English Channel with a population of approximately 172,000 people. The population is spread across Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm, and some smaller islands. The largest island is Jersey, well known for its mild climate and beautiful beaches. The second largest is Guernsey, also known for its stunning coastline and crystal-clear seas. The island welcomes tourists to attractions such as the German Underground Hospital – the largest construction in the Channel Islands from the Occupation – and the Scharnhorst Gun Battery.

For many years, Jackson has employed experienced, island-based engineers to maintain, repair, and modernise passenger and goods lifts on the two larger islands. We strongly believe in having friendly, competent engineers who live within the local community. This allows them to become well-known to our customers – an approach we feel is essential for our clients in the Channel Islands. Currently, our local engineers are maintaining lifts in both hospitality and retail environments in Jersey and Guernsey.

As with all our maintenance visits, call-outs, and repair work, Jackson engineers view their allocated jobs on secure tablets, where they can view and update the status of the lifts they are maintaining. Our local Channel Islands engineers report to our Wimborne office for day-to-day communication.

The lift maintenance routes undertaken by our local engineers are principally across Jersey and Guernsey. They include, but are not limited to:

Jersey: St. Helier and St. Aubin
Guernsey: Saint Peter Port and Saint Sampson
