Jackson modernises a failing lift at Leyton Orient FC
Generally, passenger lifts located in stadiums, experience light usage apart from match day events, when they become essential for safe, floor to floor passenger flow, particularly for those with limited mobility.
Jackson has been proudly undertaking the lift maintenance at Leyton Orient’s well-loved stadium at Brisbane Rd, Waltham Forest, London, E10, an all-seater stadium, with capacity of 9,241. Often referred to as just Orient, the Club is a member of The English Football League One, the second-highest division of the English Football League.
Modernisation to improve a failing stadium lift
During the early part of 2025, it became noticeable that one of the stadium’s lifts had started to become unreliable, the Club’s Management approached Jackson to discuss what options were available.
Having maintained the lifts at the stadium for years, our team had a detailed performance and fault history. The core issues stemmed from the aging lift controller and door operator. The Club also wanted to upgrade the car operating panel to meet current accessibility and safety standards.

Following a site visit and consultation with the Club’s Management, our London-based engineers from our Charlton Head Office were instructed to proceed. The modernisation project included the complete replacement of several key components:
