Destination Control for a premium office building in Bishopsgate

For well over a decade, Jackson has maintained a close working relationship with some of London’s largest property management companies that manage many of the premium and iconic buildings in the City of London. Over time, we have successfully undertaken various comprehensive lift modernisation projects at several of the City of London’s iconic buildings and installed multiple lift destination control systems, to assist with building security and to improve passenger flow.

One of the most recent projects completed by our major works team, was at one of EC2’s iconic city properties, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment programme. The 12-storey building is close to Liverpool Street Station, one of the city’s busiest rail and underground stations.

Following a detailed tendering process and site visits, Jackson were awarded the contract to replace all of the existing lift controllers and install the landing destination control call stations. The lift controllers were specified to manage a group of eight passenger lifts.

To assist our customer, the Jackson major projects team worked with their lift consultants and another contractor who had been selected to refurbish the lifts’ aesthetics, to match the architectural designs of the newly refurbished interiors.

Most of the works were undertaken during the period when employees were being encouraged to work from home due to the transmission risks associated with COVID, which significantly lowered the building’s occupancy.
