NHS Community Hospitals – Sussex

Project details:

  • Lift Maintenance
  • Passenger Lifts

Brighton General Hospital, well-known for the Grade II listed Arundel building and clock tower, is located on a 10-acre site dating back to before the First World War.

Today, Brighton General Hospital no longer provides an inpatient facility but serves the community with a wide range of outpatient, rehabilitation and mental health services. Brighton General Hospital is also the headquarters of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.

The Hospital is the base for over 400 NHS employees and welcomes patients from the surrounding area, many of whom need the Hospital’s lifts to assist their floor-to-floor movement.

As with all the NHS maintenance contracts Jackson hold, each one is competitively tendered following on from one of our Sales Engineers undertaking lift status visits to the Hospital being tendered for.

In this case and for the Uckfield Community Hospital in Sussex, Jackson have maintained a long-standing relationship with the Trust, proudly winning the many maintenance tenders that have been submitted by our local Sales Engineers and Regional Sales Manager since 2017.

Day-to-day administration of this contract is undertaken at the Jackson Head Office and Regional Centre in Charlton, London. Jackson engineers, who look after the lift maintenance at each Hospital, live within easy travel distance to help ensure a fast response to calls for assistance.

Uckfield Community Hospital

Principally a day Hospital, Uckfield Community Hospital has a minor injuries department and provides a range of specialist departments to help day patients. To assist this, the Hospital has 14 intermediate care beds. Local Jackson engineers provide a maintenance, call-out and repairs service for the Hospital’s 2 passenger lifts.
