New MRL bed lifts for BMI Healthcare
Not every hospital that Jackson supports with maintenance and modernisation services are within the NHS, in fact far from it, we work with many privately operated hospitals across the UK. A typical example is with The London Independent Hospital, in Stepney, E1.
Operated by Circle Health Group, formally BMI Healthcare, The London Independent Hospital is one of several private hospitals within the Group’s portfolio where Jackson have either modernised or replaced existing lifts.
At the time, as part of BMI Healthcare’s refurbishment plans, Jackson undertook various tender exercises for projects being planned at several hospitals including The London Independent Hospital. In this instance, the requirements were for two new MRL passenger and bed lifts to serve the hospital’s five floors.
Although a private hospital, The London Independent Hospital also treats NHS funded patients and has 72 beds, a critical care unit and three theatres.
Jackson engineers undertook the lift replacement project at The London Independent Hospital during the pandemic period, working under strict COVID social distancing requirements. Due to the importance of our work in this sector, Jackson engineers were given essential worker status to ensure we maintained lift availability whilst the work was undertaken.
