Escalator Repair & Upgrade Sales Engineer (London, Bristol or Wimborne)

We have a great opportunity within the company for an Escalator Repair & Upgrade Sales Engineer, and applications are invited from suitable candidates for this position. The role will be located at one of the following offices: London, Bristol or Wimborne.

The successful applicant will have proven experience in the necessary skills, be enthusiastic, possess initiative and be self-motivated. The ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues is vital, together with performing well in a sometimes highly pressurised sales environment.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Services Sales Manager and will actively promote the benefits of our escalator and moving walkway engineering services to new clients and specialist consultants, as well as those from our existing client base.

The responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertaking site surveys as necessary (EOR204N required as a minimum).
  • Generating proposals and managing enquiries for major repairs and upgrades.
  • Preparing quotations and client proposals (with sales administration support).
  • Client meetings, in person and by internet media.
  • Expanding product knowledge, and sourcing market and competitor information.
  • Building effective relationships with new and existing customers.

Personality and customer care are of vital importance. However, in the modern sales environment, the ability to properly communicate electronically through email, customer internet-based portals and other electronic media requires the successful person to have the following basic skills:

  • Relevant proven experience in practical escalator and moving walkway engineering.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and internal departments.
