Jackson have been providing apprenticeships for over 35 years.

Apprentice recruitment takes place in spring each year and applicants can apply at the beginning of the year and must have completed Performing Engineering Operations (PEO)* as a minimum requirement.

After a short selection test, suitable candidates are selected for formal interviews and apprenticeships are offered to the most suitable candidates.

The Modern Apprenticeship commences at the start of the academic year and each apprentice works to achieve NVQ3 for the maintenance and repair of lifts and in some cases escalators. Our apprentices attend a local Technical College one day a week and depending on ability, study for City & Guilds or BTEC National Certificate. The remainder of the week is spent with a qualified Jackson engineer on maintenance and repairs to lifts and escalators.

The Modern Apprenticeship is generally completed after 3 years and there are no limits as to what our apprentices can achieve within the company.

*PEO is a general engineering foundation qualification.

To apply for a Jackson apprenticeship, please write to David Jackson at our London office with a brief resume of your education or apply through our vacancy section here.

The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) supports, funds and co-ordinates the delivery of Apprenticeships throughout England and Jackson are supporters of this scheme and appear on the NAS roll of honour.

Jackson have trained over 160 apprentices and improvers since 1979, many of the in-house trained apprentices are now an important part of the highly trained workforce.
