Phased lift modernisation

After a long and complex tender process with the client and the specialist lift consultants SVM, we were awarded the first phase of an extensive programme for lift modernisation works which commenced in the spring of 2006.

This 1970s built prestigious office development houses a portfolio of 32 lifts from simplex goods lift to triplex passenger groups serving up to 9 floors of multi tenanted space. Since our first award we have now successfully completed ten lifts and are due to commence works on the next phase of five with a further six units to be instructed later in 2008.

We have worked closely in partnership with all concerned with this project from supplier to end users to ensure a high standard of workmanship throughout. With the continuity of specified lift equipment, this has enabled us to maintain the strict budgetary requirements of the client which has assisted us greatly when being considered for each phase.

From the clients perspective apart from the usual enhancements associated with newly modernised lifts, is the additional benefit that perspective tenants are impressed and confident enough to move their organisations to these premises on secure long term arrangements.

This is welcome news for the buildings owners in a competitive lease market place and confirmation of their decision to invest in the buildings potential.

Brief Project Overview

> Complete modernisation of the lifts on a phase by phase basis
> Latest technology control systems and drive control
> Interactive lift monitoring system across the whole portfolio
> Heavy duty, heavy usage best quality door drive systems
> Significant Improvements to passenger waiting times
> Vastly improved passenger confidence and lift reliability

We are pleased to announce the Management and Consulting Practise responsible for the continued lift refurbishment of Devonshire Square Estate have now placed an additional instruction for the remaining 14 lifts to be fully modernised in line with our previous successful works. This instruction now means we will have undertaken the works for the whole 32 lift portfolio for refurbishment and subsequent long term maintenance arrangements.

This is undoubtedly excellent news during the present financial climate where such prestigious and long term projects are increasingly difficult to find and our thanks and gratitude are offered to all concerned
