Phased lift modernisation
Work is ongoing in this major building to replace all 19 lifts over the next few years. This contract was won in the face of stiff competition from the major international lift companies, with the client deciding to place the order with Jackson Lift Group, ensuring that ongoing maintenance and spares are no longer a problem for them to obtain.
The works are being undertaken on a phased basis with all major activity carried out outside of normal hours, thus ensuring that the courts are not disrupted in their daily sessions.
The equipment being installed is generic and readily available from UK suppliers. The geared winding units use the latest VVVF motor control with encoder feedback, as does the new door operators. The control system is designed to readily speed the passengers to their destinations with the minimum of waiting and flight times.
The consulting engineer is Mott MacDonald and the client is Her Majesty's Court Services.
The total contract value is in excess of £1.8 million.
