Modern Apprenticeships
Jackson Lift Group apprentice recruitment takes place in spring each year. Applicants can apply at the beginning of the year and must have completed Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) as a minimum requirement. PEO is a general engineering foundation qualification. After a short selection test, suitable candidates are selected for formal interviews and apprenticeships offered to the most suitable candidates.
The Modern Apprenticeship commences at the start of the academic year and each apprentice works to achieve NVQ 3 for the maintenance and repair of lifts and in some cases escalators. Our apprentices attend a local Technical College one day a week and depending on ability, study for City & Guilds or BTEC National Certificate. The remainder of the week is spent with a qualified Jackson Lift Group engineer on maintenance and repairs to lifts and escalators. The Modern Apprenticeship is generally completed after 3 years.
Jackson Lift Group have trained over 140 apprentices and improvers in almost 30 years of trading, many of the in-house trained apprentices are now an important part of the highly trained workforce. There are no limits as to what they can achieve within the company.
Our commitment to training has been recognised by the industry when Jackson Lift Group received the Michael Ling Award for Best Training Opportunities at the last British Lift Industry Awards
